Pharmacogenomics is the study of how genes affect a person’s response to drugs. Drugs are currently dispensed with a “one size fits all” approach. However, we have known for decades that each person has his or her own unique genetic make-up. This unique make-up is an important factor in determining how you as an individual will respond to a medication. Many side effects or prescriptions are the result of individuals being prescribed medications not suited to their genetic make-up.

Pharmacogenomics is all about providing the right drug to the right person.
